It seems like a good first post would be about today, written today.
26 years ago I left school and joined the best local apprenticeship available in the area (let’s ignore ESSO) with the intention of learning a trade then seeing the world.
Then something better came along two awesome baby girls who can now drink me under the table.
16 year old me didn’t plan on a 22 year gap between learning a trade and seeing the world but that’s how it happened.
Today I left the company I joined at 16.
26 years ago almost to the month.
and I absolutely loved it there.
It has certainly been amongst one of the hardest decisions I have every made, if not the hardest.
I mean why the hell would I leave a stable job, working with amazing guys I have known for most of my life and really like the work?
Well, 16 year old me wanted to see more of the world than the south of the UK and I own it to him to give it a shot.
That is what this blog is about.
